The best YouTube channel for classic TV is FilmRise Television. It combines licensed full episodes, a large catalog and frequent uploads better than any other general-interest channel we checked. For familiar American sitcoms, start with Classic TV Rewind. For British television, choose ITV Retro.
This is a guide to watching classic TV shows on YouTube, not channels that discuss television history.
YouTube's headline video total is global, not a count of videos available in your country. A channel can therefore show hundreds of videos while its Videos tab appears empty. YouTube's official Data API reports the allowed or blocked countries for each video, so we used those rules—not the headline total—to compare UK and US availability.
Subscriber and video counts below are YouTube's public figures as checked on August 22, 2026. YouTube rounds public subscriber counts, and video totals include clips, Shorts, streams, and region-blocked uploads as well as full episodes.
The biggest US and UK availability differences
These are playable public videos found in each channel's latest 200 upload entries, not totals for its entire catalog.
| Channel | UK playable | US playable | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| FilmRise | 115 | 192 | A substantial catalog in both; larger in the US |
| ITV Retro | 198 | 17 | Primarily useful in the UK |
| The Bill | 25 | 199 | Full-episode archive is primarily useful in the US |
| Shout! Studios | 53 | 190 | Much larger selection in the US |
| BBC Comedy Greats | 100 | 197 | Longer programs vary heavily by country |

How we ranked the channels
Full episodes came first. A channel built around complete programs ranked above one dominated by clips, interviews or commentary.
A deep, organized archive mattered. Season playlists, several series and enough programs for a long viewing session all helped.
It had to work as television. Long runs, marathons, live streams and dependable uploads scored better than a channel with one isolated classic.
Ownership mattered. We favored first-party broadcaster and program channels plus identified distributors such as FilmRise, Shout! Studios and Little Dot Studios, and excluded anonymous reupload accounts.
Country availability mattered. We checked the country rules on up to 200 recent upload entries per channel for both the UK and US. Because YouTube applies restrictions per video, these figures describe the recent sample rather than guaranteeing that every older upload has the same availability.
Range broke close ties. The final list covers sitcoms, drama, children's television, animation, cooking, home improvement, Westerns, mystery and British archive programming. Subscriber count did not determine the order.
The top 10
1. FilmRise Television
487K subscribers · 2,644 videos
FilmRise is the strongest general-purpose answer because it behaves like a real rerun channel. Its licensed catalog moves between Westerns, sitcoms, drama, reality and factual television, with complete episodes rather than a feed built mainly from excerpts. Regular uploads make it useful after the first visit too.
Start with The Rifleman, season 1 episode 12, then browse the channel's series playlists. Channel
2. TRANSFORMERS HQ
2.28M subscribers · 3,100 videos
The official Transformers channel has the deepest single-franchise library in this ranking. It spans Beast Wars and several later series, organizes episodes into long playlists and regularly runs extended streams and marathons.
Use the playlists if you want a particular era. Watch Transformers: Prime, season 1 episode 1 or visit the channel.
3. Classic TV Rewind
91.2K subscribers · 111 videos
Classic TV Rewind is the best focused source for familiar American network reruns. Its official studio catalog includes series such as Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Benson, Diff'rent Strokes, What's Happening!! and Hart to Hart, presented as complete episodes with clear titles and current uploads.
Start with Bewitched, season 4 episode 10. The channel is narrower than FilmRise but easier to browse if vintage sitcoms are the goal. Channel
4. Power Rangers Official
11.3M subscribers · 7,160 videos
The official Power Rangers channel turns a sprawling franchise into usable television. Complete episodes, season playlists, compilations and long live streams cover the original 1990s run and later teams. It is more specialized than the three channels above, but almost impossible to exhaust.
Begin with Day of the Dumpster, the first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode. Channel
5. ITV Retro
93.5K subscribers · 344 videos
ITV Retro is the best British archive channel in the list. Full episodes and remastered programs range from Gerry Anderson adventures to drama, crime and entertainment drawn from ITV's catalog. The selection is curated rather than exhaustive, but the presentation and rights provenance are unusually clear.
Try the remastered full episode Thunderbirds: End of the Road. Channel
The linked episode and almost all recent uploads were available in the UK but not the US when checked. The representative episode was explicitly blocked in the US and Japan.
6. TokuSHOUTsu
233K subscribers · 331 videos
TokuSHOUTsu is Shout! Studios' home for tokusatsu: Japanese live-action superhero, monster and science-fiction television. It is the strongest choice for Kamen Rider, with full episodes and marathon-style viewing rather than isolated fight clips.
Start with Kamen Rider Ryuki, episode 1. Channel
7. This Old House
2.32M subscribers · 3,248 videos
This Old House is both an active program and a deep archive of practical American television. Complete episodes sit beside shorter how-to videos, so its playlists are the quickest route to the classic series. The patient pacing and real renovation work also make it unusually good lean-back viewing.
Watch Big Plans, season 29 episode 2, then follow the project by season. Channel
8. The Bill
21.1K subscribers · 3,848 videos
The Bill's official channel is a vast, sequential source for the long-running British police drama for US viewers. Full episodes arrive frequently and the archive is much easier to follow than a random collection of reruns. It ranks below ITV Retro because it is devoted to one program and its availability is sharply regional.
Only 25 of the latest 200 upload entries produced a video playable in the UK, compared with 199 in the US. Recent full episodes were blocked in the UK and Ireland. The older episode linked above was available in both countries but had third-party embedding disabled, so use the official channel directly.
9. Bob Ross
6.56M subscribers · 1,298 videos
The official Bob Ross channel is the definitive home of The Joy of Painting. The complete programs are calm, self-contained and organized by season, making the archive equally useful for learning and background viewing. Newer posts include shorter material, so go straight to the classic-episode playlists.
Start at the beginning with A Walk in the Woods. Channel
10. RedGreenTV
519K subscribers · 1,231 videos
RedGreenTV is an unusually complete creator-controlled archive. Hundreds of episodes of the Canadian comedy series are arranged into seasons, alongside compilations and related material. The homemade format has aged into perfect low-stakes comfort television.
Begin with The Big Outboard, season 1 episode 1. Embedding varies between uploads, but the episodes remain available on the official channel.
11 to 30
11. Shout! Studios
1.34M subscribers · 5,152 videos
A broad licensed catalog spanning cult television, films, animation and genre programming. The main feed is mixed, but the playlists reveal complete shows and long marathons that complement the more focused TokuSHOUTsu channel.
The US selection was much larger when checked: 190 of the latest 200 upload entries produced a playable US video, compared with 53 in the UK.
12. The Carol Burnett Show Official
676K subscribers · 1,089 videos
The first stop for Carol Burnett's sketch comedy. Full programs, themed compilations and long streams give it much more staying power than a collection of famous clips.
13. The Film Detective
153K subscribers · 2,084 videos
The distributor's archive of mid-century television and film is particularly useful for crime, Westerns and less familiar black-and-white series. The most recent upload was in December 2023 when checked, but the existing library is deep.
14. Unsolved Mysteries - Full Episodes
454K subscribers · 413 videos
Complete episodes and long streams from the Robert Stack era make this one of the cleanest one-show recommendations. It works especially well when you want a whole evening rather than a single case.
15. Wild West TV
107K subscribers · 1,284 videos
Shout! TV's focused home for classic Western series, films and continuous streams. Choose it over FilmRise when cowboys and frontier dramas are the whole point.
16. Julia Child on PBS
172K subscribers · 334 videos
This PBS Distribution-managed archive covers The French Chef, Baking with Julia, Cooking with Master Chefs and other Julia Child programs. The television is instructional, warm and far less hurried than modern recipe video.
17. Masters of the Universe: He-Man & She-Ra
421K subscribers · 1,440 videos
A deep source of full episodes from the Filmation universe. The most recent upload was in December 2023 when checked, but the 1980s material remains organized and easy to find.
18. TheArchiveSeries
71.8K subscribers · 454 videos
Restored vintage television that reaches beyond the same handful of endlessly repeated sitcoms. It is a good discovery channel for older crime, drama, action, science-fiction and family series.
19. Gerry Anderson
103K subscribers · 1,441 videos
The official account of Anderson Entertainment and the Gerry Anderson Estate covers Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, Captain Scarlet and Anderson's wider catalog. Expect a mix of full programs, clips and current fan material; ITV Retro is often better for uninterrupted episodes.
20. The Full Series Channel
17.6K subscribers · 663 videos
Little Dot Studios' full-episode collection spans true crime, science, history, comedy and other genres. Not everything is old enough to count as classic television, so selective browsing is required. The long-form uploads we checked were YouTube-only because embedding was disabled.
21. Mr Bean
36M subscribers · 5,988 videos
The official franchise channel has a public Full Episodes | Mr Bean | Live Action playlist with 194 entries. The main feed is dominated by clips and Shorts, but the playlist contains feature-length episode compilations. Bean's Dental Dash & More ran 4 hours 42 minutes and was public, embeddable, and available in both the UK and US when checked.
The playlist repeats material and mixes individual stories into compilations, so its 194 entries should not be read as 194 unique episodes.
22. MotorWeek
545K subscribers · 6,408 videos
Decades of car reviews and road tests turn the long-running PBS program into an accidental record of changing design, prices and technology. The feed mixes full shows with individual segments, so browse by model year or season.
23. BBC Comedy Greats
973K subscribers · 1,913 videos
This commercial BBC Studios channel offers clips, compilations, marathons and selected longer programs from the BBC comedy archive. It is strongest as a sampler for discovering a series, not as a complete-episode library.
Availability is counterintuitive: 100 of the latest 200 upload entries produced a playable UK video, compared with 197 in the US. Many longer uploads were blocked in the UK and Ireland.
24. Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood
92.4K subscribers · 54 videos
Launched in March 2026, this official channel has a growing selection of full episodes, songs, factory visits and classic moments. The catalog is smaller than the long-established archives, but it is ideal for calm family viewing.
25. Sid & Marty Krofft Pictures
155K subscribers · 159 videos
The producers' official account covers H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, The Bugaloos, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and other Krofft shows. The most recent upload was in August 2025 when checked, and full-episode coverage varies by series.
26. Johnny Carson
1.28M subscribers · 842 videos
The official home of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson is outstanding for interviews, monologues and individual appearances. It ranks lower because clips outnumber complete broadcasts.
27. All In The Family
155K subscribers · 675 videos
The official series channel has complete episodes, clips and compilations from the landmark sitcom on a current upload schedule. It is a strong destination for one series, though Classic TV Rewind gives you more places to go next.
28. Baywatch
1.14M subscribers · 540 videos
The series channel mixes program material with clips and franchise promotion. None of the 50 latest uploads reached 20 minutes when checked, so this is best treated as a clip archive rather than a source of full episodes.
29. Bewitched
284K subscribers · 1,092 videos
The official series channel is active, with complete episodes alongside clips. It sits near the bottom only because Classic TV Rewind already carries the series within a more varied catalog.
30. I Dream of Jeannie
168K subscribers · 935 videos
The official series channel posts full episodes and shorter scenes from the 1960s sitcom. It is dependable and current, but narrow; start with Classic TV Rewind unless Jeannie is specifically what you came to watch.

Turn classic television into a channel
YouTube is good at finding one old episode and bad at keeping the evening coherent. Channel Surfer turns YouTube sources into television channels that are already playing when you arrive. Add FilmRise for variety, ITV Retro for British programs and Bob Ross when you want something quieter, then change channels without returning to the recommendation grid. It is our free app.
Not every rights holder permits third-party playback, so keep the direct YouTube links above for any program that will not play inside Channel Surfer. To follow new episodes without relying on YouTube's recommendations, paste a channel URL into our YouTube RSS feed generator.
For feature-length viewing, continue with the best documentaries on YouTube or the best WW2 documentaries on YouTube.
